Booking

How booking works

The practical rules — what a day costs, when we stop taking bookings, and what happens when plans change.

Camp is sold by the day

A place costs $100 a day. You choose a first day and a last day for each child and pay for the camp days in between — a Monday-to-Friday week is five of them. There is no separate weekly rate, and no charge for weekends or for days the camp is closed.

Trips are included. You will not be asked for extra money for them during the summer.

When bookings close

A stay has to be booked by the Thursday before the week your child starts. After that the week closes online and we cannot take walk-ins — the office needs the numbers in advance for staffing, food and bunks.

If you have missed the deadline, telephone the office rather than assuming the answer is no. It often is, but not always, and it is a person’s decision rather than the website’s.

Paying

You can pay by card or bank transfer through the website, or by Zelle, cheque or cash to the office. Card and bank payments are handled by Stripe — we never see your card number.

Payment plans are available: a deposit now and the rest in instalments. If money is the reason your child would not otherwise come, write to us. That conversation is private, it is had every year, and no child is turned away over it.

A place is yours once it is paid for

Weeks have a limited number of places and they are taken in the order families register. Adding your child to a waiting list for a full week does not hold a place and costs nothing — it means we will write to you if one opens.

If plans change

Write to us. We do not run a fixed refund schedule: a family whose circumstances have changed in July is not in the same position as one changing their mind in March, and we would rather look at what actually happened than apply a table to it. A person will answer you.

If we close a day

Occasionally camp cannot run — weather, most often. We will email the families booked in that day as soon as we know. Nothing is deducted automatically; if a closed day should be credited back to you, the office will settle it with you directly.

Health, medication and photographs

You will be asked to complete a health form for each child before their first day, including allergies and any medication taken during the camp day. Medication is stored and given by our staff, and every dose is written down.

How we handle your family’s information, and your child’s photograph, is set out in our privacy notice.
